From yard to driveway: booking vehicle transport after a win

Fee Watch ·

Auction yards are not parking lots — storage fees start fast, and a non-running lot needs a carrier with a winch. The booking sequence that avoids most horror stories:

  • Get the lot number, yard address, and buyer number to the transporter the day you win.
  • Confirm the carrier (not just the broker) name, MC number and insurance certificate.
  • Tell them if the vehicle is inoperable — a surprise winch job at the yard means a canceled pickup and another storage day.
Bid Notes ·

Second the MC-number check. Brokers reselling loads to the cheapest truck is where most delivery damage disputes begin — you want to know who actually shows up.
