Why you can't just bid at Manheim: dealer licenses explained from the lane

Ring Steward ·

Manheim is a closed, dealer-only auction: to bid you need a state-issued dealer license, and getting one means a bonded application, a commercial location, insurance, and annual renewals — a real business, not a hobby card. That wall exists because wholesale pricing only works if the lane is restricted to the trade.

For private buyers the practical routes are: buy from the independent lots that source there, use a licensed broker or managed bidding service, or shop the open salvage lanes (Copart, IAA) where many title types are public in many states.
